Hello, world!
I'm Bill Chow
Computer Science and Mathematics student at Cornell University passionate about building things and solving challenging problems.
Experience
Machine Learning Intern, OmniVision Technologies
- Rewrote a legacy mixed-precision quantization tuner used in production for convolutional neural networks in PyTorch, reducing codebase by 58.7% (from 4907 to 2029 lines), to improve code base maintainability.
- Developed a configurable strategy allowing users to prioritize tuner speed or quality based on the use case, reducing model tuning time by 92% (from 14 to 1 hour) on quick mode.
- Developed a test suite with 100% code coverage to ensure backward compatibility with the legacy tuner.
- Analyzed individual model layers’ quantization sensitivity statistics using Scikit-learn and Matplotlib to guide the design of the tuner’s configurable strategy, presenting findings to the team of ~10.
